Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and API access. We actively monitor usage patterns to detect and respond to policy violations.
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines acceptable conduct when using the RutaAPI service ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. If you are unsure whether a use case is permitted, please contact us at support@rutaapi.com before proceeding.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited when using RutaAPI:

Illegal Activity Using the Service for any activity that is unlawful, illegal, or prohibited under applicable laws in your jurisdiction. This includes any use that violates local, national, or international law.

Malware & Harmful Code Generating, distributing, or using the Service to create malware, viruses, ransomware, worms, trojans, or any other malicious software or code intended to harm or disrupt systems, data, or networks.

Phishing & Social Engineering Using the Service to generate content for phishing attacks, social engineering campaigns, or any attempt to fraudulently obtain credentials, personal information, financial data, or other sensitive information from users.

Spam & Unsolicited Communications Using the Service to generate bulk unsolicited messages, promotional content, or any form of spam, whether for commercial or non-commercial purposes. This includes generating content used in unsolicited email, SMS, or messaging campaigns.

Credential Theft & Unauthorized Access Using the Service to generate, assist, or facilitate the theft of login credentials, authentication tokens, API keys, passwords, or any content designed to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or networks.

Abuse of Third-Party Services Using the Service to facilitate abuse of third-party services, including generating content that violates the terms of service of upstream AI model providers or any third-party platform. This includes bypassing rate limits, circumventing safety filters, or generating content designed to exploit vulnerabilities in third-party systems.

Content Violating Provider Terms Generating content or using the Service in any manner that violates the terms of service, use policies, or content policies of upstream AI model providers (including but not limited to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Meta). You are responsible for ensuring your use of AI model outputs complies with all applicable provider policies.

Circumvention of Safety Systems Using the Service to generate content designed to manipulate, bypass, or circumvent safety, content moderation, or alignment systems of RutaAPI or upstream model providers.

Fraud & Deceptive Practices Using the Service to generate content for fraudulent schemes, deceptive practices, impersonation, or any activity intended to mislead or deceive third parties.

High-Risk Decision-Making Without Disclosure Using RutaAPI outputs for high-stakes automated decisions (including in healthcare, legal, financial, or safety-critical applications) without clear disclosure to affected parties and without human oversight.
Your Responsibilities
As a user of RutaAPI, you agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes in accordance with this AUP
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
- Respect the terms of service of upstream AI model providers when using their models through RutaAPI
- Keep your API keys secure and not share them with unauthorized parties
- Monitor your account for any unauthorized or unusual activity
- Report suspected violations to support@rutaapi.com immediately
Enforcement
We actively monitor API usage for patterns consistent with AUP violations. If a violation is detected or reported, we may take the following actions, in our sole discretion:
- Temporary suspension of API access pending investigation
- Permanent termination of your account and all associated API keys
- Removal of prohibited content
- Reporting illegal activity to relevant law enforcement authorities

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
